The Analytics Enablement team is one of the five verticals within the newly established Chief Data Office (CDO), part of T. Rowe Price’s Chief Operating Office (COO). The team is responsible defining the firmwide analytics enablement strategy and roadmap, lead their implementation, and anticipate evolving data and analytics needs and ensure that they are being enabled in a timely and scalable manner.
The Role
As a Director, Analytics Enablement, you will be an experienced, innovative, and collaborative team player with a strong track record of delivering value and impact within an enterprise-wide analytics function. You will bring a sound understanding of enterprise data strategy as well as knowledge of industry standard analytics tools and platforms build capabilities for accelerated data reporting, analytics development and scientific modelling across the organization.
As a senior member of the team, you will move seamlessly between business and technology teams, translating business needs into technical requirements both in a hands-on capacity and providing strategic leadership when required. Your extensive experience in data analytics will enable you to focus on delivering insightful analytics and delightful customer experiences. In addition, you will be a strong communicator who is able to distil and translate complex technical concepts and data-driven analyses into straightforward actionable insights for business end-users
You will be intellectually curious and a passionate problem solver with a strong desire to achieve measurable business impact through insight generation and delivery. You will have experience in leadership roles within transformation initiatives combining proven leadership with the ability to partner with diverse teams across the organization to develop best-in-class data solutions. Experience managing people directly would be an advantage.
Impact
The role is critical to the successful deployment of the firmwide analytics enablement strategy and roadmap, its implementation and the realization of long-term value from this capability. As such, you will build partnerships across the organization and operate in complex spaces that are highly visible. Key Accountabilities
Define, design and implement the reporting and data information needs for the various data-consumer groups throughout division, including running the processes for reporting/information requests/delivery/storage/archiving.
Develop and maintain internal division data-related relationships with key business partners/shared services groups.
Operationalize a ‘data concierge’ to research and provision appropriate datasets based on user requests and instil data literacy.
Support self-service data discovery, reporting, and visualization by promoting analytical literacy, participating in user communities, managing access controls, and monitoring platform utilization.
Support the establishment of an advanced analytics engagement model and persona-based analytics workbench for researchers, quants, and data scientists.
Oversee and execute data analytics activities and continuous operational improvements.
Communicate complex technical concepts and analyses to nontechnical audiences and senior stakeholders.
Manage special projects that support functional or business initiatives that are of importance to the organization.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND 12+ years of total relevant work experience.
Good knowledge of industry trends related to Business Intelligence/Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, Data Management, metadata, , unstructured data and data quality practices
Ability to effectively communicate at different levels in and across the organization and to articulate to nontechnical audiences.
Strong consultative skills required to work directly with the business to understand data capability gaps and work across the organization to support new capabilities for firm leverage.
Knowledge and experience using analytics tools, building dashboards and reports, working with multi-terabyte data sets and using SQL.
Working knowledge of Data Management, Data Warehousing technologies, database administration, performance tuning, archiving and disaster recovery.
Solid oral and written communication, problem solving and project management skills
The ability to actively manage multiple project tasks, resources and deadlines are essential
Knowledge of Data Engineering and, ETL Practices, SQL Database visualization and reporting tools
Preferred Requirements
Master’s degree or MBA
In-depth understanding of asset management industry
5+ years of experience in data and analytics methodologies and processes for Investment Management businesses
Experience leading and working in Agile environments, ideally at scale but with the ability to flex as needed e.g., waterfall
Exposure to data architecture, engineering and expertise with multiple database types
Experience in Data Modeling for Data Warehouse
Working in virtual, cross-functional teams
