B2B Strategic Marketing Advisor, Regulated Markets and Health Plans – Hybrid

POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a strategic business marketing advisor aligned to Evernorth, Cigna’s Health Services business segment focused on supporting key lines of business including Medicare/Medicaid/Exchange health plan lines. This role requires a focus in business-to-business (B2B) marketing strategy, message development, product marketing and campaign development experience.

The ideal candidate will exhibit proven ability to work cross-functionally in development and execution of a comprehensive message and strategic marketing framework aligned to enterprise goals and in support of the needs of our business partners and clients.

To succeed in this role the candidate must possess strong ability to navigate a complex matrixed environment, be comfortable challenging the status quo, and be the connective tissue that brings cross-functional groups together to translate business objectives into sound B2B marketing strategies. Candidate will work with a broad array of business partners in marketing, account management, creative services and other cross-functional partners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with leader and cross-functional partners to build and execute strategic marketing plan aligned to the growth and retention goals of the health plan division and the Medicare/Medicaid/Exchange health plans we support.
• Actively engage with account team to understand the unique needs of
• Medicare/Medicaid/ Exchange health plan buyers and how to translate complex and diverse subject matter into compelling ideas and messages aligned to organizational and client goals.
• Partner with marketing leaders and capability centers (brand, creative services,
• paid/owned/social, marketing operations, etc.) to execute marketing campaigns, develop
• educational collateral, and drive engagement.
• Content Development: Storyline creation consisting of narratives, sales enablement tools, emails and PowerPoint presentations; executes on line of business campaigns, communications and digital executions (website content).
• Work closely with divisional leadership, events team, and other matrix partners, on line of business and company-wide marquee events. Includes support in planning, pre-event promotion, possible on-site support during the meeting/event and reporting metrics out to key constituents post event.
• Responsible for sharing data and creating marketing insights (from web, social, email campaigns,
• events, others) with account teams as a means to teach them about their clients,
• highlight opportunities and overall inform our consultative partnership with clients. Also to
• educate marketing (and other partners) about key trends based on this data.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL OFFER:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or other related discipline
• 5-7+ years of marketing and business strategy experience, business to business expertise.
• Strong Modern Marketer: ability to understand and grasp marketing strategy and approach,
• leverage data and insights to inform strategy and recommended approach, link business need to
• action, understand how to leverage digital tactics/channels to execute marketing strategy.
• Excellent storyteller with an ability to create simple and differentiated messages and pull
• through marketing tactics. Requires excellent storytelling and writing, strong PowerPoint and superior project management skills. Strong digital storytelling capabilities and comfortability in working with digital platforms a plus.
• Health care industry experience a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills: role does require writing and editing of
• market-facing collateral and communications.
• Ability to work effectively in dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment across
• multiple functions and in support of diverse buyers and geographies.
• Critical thinker and creative problem solver, who exercises good judgment in resolving difficult
• situations, prioritizes and can balance needs with enterprise objectives
• Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment, and juggle multiple, sometimes
• competing, priorities and requirements
• Ability to lead at the top of your license while also performing executional tasks to support
• marketing and account team priorities
• Previous experience working with and briefing internal creative teams or outside agencies.
• Experience executing strategy within timeline, budget and quality standards
• Travel required occasionally (less than 10%).
