Business Analytics Senior Manager (National Behavioral Health – Contract Underwriting)

Summary

Leads financial analysis and reporting for Contract Underwriting functions for all Behavioral Markets Nationally. Responsible for development of reporting tools and overseeing and understanding key drivers of behavioral cost results in the markets and communicating these results to matrix partners. Partner closely with the Behavioral Network team to provide analytical, financial, and business support throughout provider rate negotiations and network expansion efforts. Actively participates in cross-functional Leadership team ensuring optimal focus of efforts and timely identification of emerging themes/trends in the Behavioral space. Provide guidance, leadership, and development of staff analysts.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for executing healthcare provider-level analytics in support of contract negotiation process. Requires critical eye, attention to detail, and deftness in analysis design.
• Leads analytical design efforts for Contract negotiation templates, base relativity reporting, and Network optimization efforts. This requires strong communication skills, critical listening, and the ability to influence outcomes.
• Partner with Network and Finance in development of, and management to, Network unit cost plan budgets
• Develops reporting tools as necessary for continual process improvement and advancement of business objectives
• Communication with and influencing of key matrix partners to ensure goals and targets are met
• Drives change initiatives to address prospective business needs. Acts as catalyst through multiple layers to spark enthusiasm, collaboration and results
• Responsible for management and continuous development of analytical team

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ financial analysis experience in Healthcare; Payor experience preferred
• Experience with Behavioral Health Networks highly desirable
• Strong background and deep understanding of contract underwriting, rate structure, and health plan performance
• Strong knowledge of market dynamics (healthcare providers, employers, and competitors) to aid development of strategies and tactics to achieve Network objectives
• Demonstrated excellence in leadership ability to engage and motivate in a high performance culture
• Strategic thinker with both sound and broad business acumen
• Experience working successfully in a highly matrixed environment
• Proven experience in managing multiple priorities and agility in adapting to change in a highly dynamic and changing environment
• Change leader who will be proactive in assisting in positive growth for the future
• Clinical/Current Medical Coding and/or Public Health training a plus

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 117,800 – 196,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
