We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our team. Ideally this role will be hybrid in our Dallas, TX office; or could potentially sit remote within Texas.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Leads a team of two to three marketing underwriters, implementing business plans to achieve operational objectives and key results to transform the insurance experience one partnership at a time. May have a direct agency assignment or responsibility for important large policyholders. Demonstrates technical proficiency with large accounts. Implements underwriting guidelines and procedures to achieve profitable results.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Manage assigned marketing underwriters, as well as individually assigned agencies, in the development of agencies through the PFS Program.
Serve as marketing underwriter and primary contact for identified large and complex accounts with key agencies.
Execute the vision and objectives for assigned territory.
Manage, with oversight, the development and implementation of business plans for achieving established operational plan targets for written premium, loss ratio/profitability, retention, pricing and coordination of service.
Develop market knowledge of potential new agency opportunities to achieve appropriate market share objectives.
Manage overall customer relationship including proper support and service delivery activities to ensure achievement of business plan objectives.
Increase awareness of talent identification and knowledge of talent opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience.
5 years middle market marketing and underwriting experience.
Management experience preferred.
Demonstrated success cultivating and maintaining business relationships with key customers to support departmental goals and objectives.
Designations such as CIC, CPCU, and AU preferred.
Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department, across the organization and with external customers.
Ability to think strategically with supporting analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.
Ability to influence and persuade others.
