Director of Global Digital Solutions/Business Development – IOT

We are searching for a Global Digital Solutions / Business Development Leader at Worthington Industries. This candidate will lead the commercialization efforts of technology-enabled products and related data & analytics services. This person will coordinate with multiple business unit leaders to assist in defining strategy and commercialization opportunities. The position will guide IoT marketing efforts and assist in driving our aspirations to be a leader in this space across multiple end markets. The role will work closely with business and product directors

software engineers

sales teams

and other cross-functional partners to develop and execute the strategy. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset

eager to bring new business into our portfolio. This role is crucial in enhancing our IoT enabled earnings streams.

Responsibilities

• Define and set strategy for IoT and remote tank monitoring business

  bringing external knowledge of the industry

  and providing data on market and opportunities

• Identify & evaluate prospective needs for evaluating IoT solutions
• Use data to lead innovation efforts and improve customer experience
• Evolve products into services to create new profit sources powered by data
• Create clear plan of execution including timelines

• Identify and prioritize commercial channels to market in various geographies and coordinate those efforts with the priorities of the product directors
• In partnership with business and product development teams

  map out a product roadmap incorporating data from market research

• Lead the product team by developing market priorities on where the business should focus relative to maximizing profitability and channel to market
• Collaborate with the product team in developing pricing strategies via the use of analytics and market knowledge

Desired Experience

• 7-10 years e xperience commercializing technology-enabled product and/or data service solutions; identifying and monetizing such opportunities
• Software engineering understanding and ability to lead IoT efforts and strategy
• 5-7 years of IoT software and hardware experience
• Digital platform experience – UX/UI
