The Large Motors and Generators Division offers a comprehensive product portfolio of large AC motors and generators. From general purpose to highly customized designs, synchronous motors and high voltage induction motors provide high efficiency, reliability and availability across all major industries and applications, including some in the toughest and most demanding environments. The division also has a long track record of designing and building generators for wide range of industries, including power generation, marine, oil and gas, mining, and data centers. Your responsibilities
Sales Strategy: Creates, plans and implements sales strategy and strategic sales and business development initiatives in alignment with global and local sales strategy. Achieves sales targets in respect of both budgets and sales efficiency
Sales Targets: Establishes sales targets and ensure sales achievement through regular oversight and definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed.
Customer Acquisition: Identifies opportunities at existing and potential new customers within defined geographical area and determines plans for acquisition and allocates resources.
Information Sharing: coordinates the flow of information for sales activities and transactions, including leads, billings, orders, contracts, etc. and evaluates data to ensure achievement of goals
Customer Relations: supports the development of strong relationships with key customers. Builds and maintains strong relationships with key decision makers. Ensures efficient marketing communications.
Volume, Profit & Cost: Ensures achievement of sales volume and product mix targets by setting appropriate price and margin for sales. Participates on negotiations of key contracts. Manages ongoing costs.
Risk: Monitors client financial status and reports any changes regarding risk to relevant internal partner teams. Identifies and manages potential risks relating to contact agreements across customers/ channels.
Sales Process: Takes ownership of the sales processes and all relevant training and development plans, actions and programs.
People Leadership & Development: Ensures (w./HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Coaches, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies. Drives and ensures know-how sharing and cross collaboration.
Your background
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Marketing or Business Administration or technical field with a minimum 10 years related experience.
Team player with great people skills.
Strong knowledge of electric motors, with particular emphasis of their application in the industry. Product management and/or sales process background would be an asset.
Solid interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
Efficient in managing priorities.
Highly proficient in MS-Excel, Word, Power point.
Bilingual would be an asset (French & English).
Sales Force and Power BI – these are critical tools going forward.
Knowledge to work within a matrix organization and thrive within a virtual team evironnment – these are key aspects of the ABB culture.
Frequent travel will be required to meet customers and business partners.
