TPI is seeking cooperative education students to join the TPI Rhode Island Manufacturing Operations team from July to December of 2023. The co-op program participants will have the opportunity to engage in projects within manufacturing, quality assurance, or sourcing & logistics and will receive exposure to TPI lean/continuous improvement processes. Improvement activities may include the following areas: process management, quality assurance, supply planning, customer management, demand management, master scheduling & planning, and inventory management. During the co-op assignment, students will establish relationships with peers and leaders, learn fundamentals of manufacturing operations, and receive coaching performance and feedback from TPI leaders. Individuals in this program lead and assist in improvement initiatives that will optimize the performance of our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities:
Support process engineers on process improvement projects.
Collect data and gather information (continuous improvement, revisions and updates for customer, etc.)
Participate in cross-functional project teams.
Make recommendations to management based on business case and analysis.
Assist in the creation of work processes in areas such as operations, operation planning, and materials.
Identify and develop key operational excellence metrics and measures to facilitate performance improvements.
Interact with senior management, build internal network and relationships with other associates and make a difference in TPI’s future success.

Education and Experience:
Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Engineering – Junior and Senior undergraduate or graduate students
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to acquire, assimilate, and analyze data from multiple systems and data sources using a variety of business intelligence and reporting tools.
Strong communication and presentation skills adaptable for engaging with multiple levels across the organization.
Ability to operate and take initiative in an environment of ambiguity; holds themselves and team members accountable for a high level of performance.
Some project management and data analysis experience is important. Experience with facilitation, change management, best practice translation, and process improvement is ideal.
