Entry level Tool and Die Repair Tech

TWB Canton is looking for entry level Tool & Die Technician!

Tool & Die Technician 1 is responsible for learning the different types of tools to enable the production processes to be as efficient as possible. This may include jigs

fixtures

clamps or dies to obtain a more robust consistently produced part that meets the specification of the customer.

Ideal candidate will be proactive in finding solutions to problems and identifying ways to improve the business. They will be expected to test and adjust the systems they have built or maintained ensuring tooling

and assemblies meet the required specification. This requires the application of a broad range of skills

knowledge

and occupational behaviors across a range of engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

On successful completion of training

you will:

• Use a combination of lathes

  presses

  grinders and cutting machines

• Use precision measuring instruments like micrometers and gauges
• Basic machine maintenances
• Tooling strip down and diagnosis for repair
• Tooling improvements
• Preventive maintenance of tooling
• Complete tool reports and ordering of spare parts
• Preventive maintenance of the shop’s machinery
• Fabrication of fixtures and spare parts for tooling
• Maintain Spare parts system
• Maintain tooling standards and enhance
• Comply with the quality and environment standards procedures and instructions
• Identifies that there is a problem & has the capability to use the tools and resources to find root causes and implement a permanent correction action to prevent reoccurrence.
• Ability to make quality decisions for minor defects and proper tooling needed for setups
• Displays initiative to drive personal

Education:

• High school diploma – required
• Two-year technical associates degree (preferred)
• Two years’ experience in manufacturing environment
