Level I – up to $61,600

Job Description
This position will provide the statistical analysis and epidemiologic support required to produce reliable and accurate results from the Oklahoma Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) and The Oklahoma Toddler Survey (TOTS) ongoing surveillance systems. It will provide leadership in interpreting results from the analysis necessary for selected topics of need and interest. It will direct the survey processes, including the adherence to study design and survey protocols. It will also provide leadership in survey research and in survey redesign with the CDC and other project funding streams. This position will also work on cross-cutting data related projects. The MCH Epidemiologist must have an understanding of research methods and be versatile with statistical software, preferably SAS or software for complex survey data analysis, SUDAAN.
Level I – Master’s degree in public health, biological, medical, or health science which includes 6 semester hours in epidemiological methods and 6 semester hours of other epidemiological coursework and 9 semester hours in statistical methods and analysis.
Level II – Master’s degree in Epidemiology and one year of experience in a field involving the use of epidemiological research, investigation, and analysis.
Level III – Requirements consist of those identified in Level II and three years of experience in a field involving the use of epidemiological techniques and analysis; or a doctorate in epidemiology and one year of qualifying experience.
Skills in SAS or SAS-callable SUDAAN software
Ability to prepare reports tailored to the agencies’ needs
Advanced skills linking large datasets
Ability to use job-specific tools to review data.
