The Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department’s (OTRD) mission is to advance the exceptional quality of life in Oklahoma by preserving, maintaining, and promoting our natural assets and cultural amenities.
OTRD is seeking a part-time Laborer Assistant at Lake Texoma State Park in Kingston, OK. This position is an hourly rate of $10.50.
Job Description
Basic Purpose
Perform a variety of unskilled to semi-skilled manual labor and general repair duties and/or assist craft personnel in any one of the several grounds maintenance or building trades.
Typical Functions
Cut grass, weeds, trees, and brush; clean culverts drain, and ditches; pick up litter; move, load, and unload materials, supplies, and equipment; haul or carry sand, lumber, and a significant amount of time performing janitorial duties.
Assist skilled craft workers, including machinists, carpenters, plumbers, masons, electricians, or welders by carrying materials and tools, picking up materials from suppliers, or performing unskilled tasks, such as digging holes and tearing out walls; moving furniture or other heavy equipment at a building or site.
Mow lawns, trim shrubs, rake grass and pick up trash, sweep walks, and clean restrooms; sweep, mop, and buffer floors; pick up trash and perform general clean-up and custodial duties.
Performs related work as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
Knowledge of the tools, equipment, methods, and practices of the general building and mechanical trades; ability to follow simple oral instructions, use hand tools and high-speed power tools, perform the less skilled aspects of the mechanical and building trades, and physically perform heavy manual labor.
