Job Description
DEFINITION:
Under the supervision of the Park Manager I, plans and directs maintenance repair technicians in the general maintenance, upkeep, and repair of a state park.
Incumbents perform semiskilled and skilled tasks involving the general maintenance and upkeep of park facilities including buildings, plumbing, heating & A/C, electrical and other systems and equipment or machinery. This position may assist skilled craft workers such as carpenters, electricians, painters, and other technicians in completing assigned tasks.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
Inspects buildings, premises, and equipment in order to determine if conditions require repair or maintenance; makes estimates of cost of labor and materials; makes recommendations as to required repairs; purchase needed material and supplies to accomplish repairs and maintenance; inspects work in progress and upon completion for compliance with standards and for satisfactory operation; inspects work performed under contracts and projects.
Provides functional supervision, scheduling and directs the work of maintenance repair technicians, groundskeepers, and laborers.
Complete reports of equipment operations, of installation and maintenance work performed, and of material, supplies, and equipment used.
Contacts service providers to coordinate projects.
Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Three (3) years of experience in one or more of the building trades; OR an equivalent combination of education/training and experience in the building trades.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
In order to operate state-owned vehicles in the performance of regularly assigned duties; successful applicant must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license at the time of appointment.
