Material Handler. Shipping & Receiving (Nights) – WSCP Cleveland West

Worthington’s Cleveland West facility on Heidtman Parkway in Cleveland has an immediate opening in its Shipping & Receiving department for a Material Handler to work as a crane operator on 3rd/Night shift. We are looking for a self-starter with a strong work ethic and desire to perform their duties to the highest standard.

Internal candidates should discuss their intent to apply with their manager or HR. They must be RFT and in good standing (meet or exceeding expectations) for attendance

safety and performance.

Schedule:

New hires must be able to work and train on 1st shift (Days) for a min. of 45-90 days). Once signed off

they will be assigned to 3rd (Night) Shift – 10pm to 6am

Sun-Thursday. Availability for weekend and periodic overtime work required

varies based on customer demand.

Summary

The primary role for a Material Handler is moving material around the plant or work site with a crane and/or forklift for production to run smoothly

and customer orders to be fulfilled efficiently and accurately. This individual must be detail-oriented to properly load/unload material from trucks or machines

and stage material in a timely and accurate manner.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates a crane/tractor to load

  unload and place material into inventory.

• Ensures proper receipt or shipment of coils -checks and accurately records data into system.
• Moves and stages material as scheduled for optimum machine efficiency.
• Locates material into finished goods as needed.
• Tracks orders and tags.
• Performs miscellaneous tasks throughout plant to ensure safe

  efficient and quality production of materials.

• May perform housekeeping duties within the plant when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience

• Must be able to handle physical

  repetitive work

  possess strong hand-eye coordination

  and be able to stand on your feet and walk on uneven surfaces for up to 12 hours a day. Full-mobility

  ability to work in extreme weather conditions (high heat

  cold exposure) and manual dexterity required.

• Ability to fulfill all training requirements and adjust schedule according to changing production demands

  including weekend or overtime work.

• High level of attention to detail

  required.

• Excellent forklift/material handling skills
• Basic math skills for verification of receipt quantities
• Self-motivated and efficient; able to meet or exceed company expectations with Interest in developing additional skills and knowledge through cross-training and other developmental opportunities.
• Working knowledge of PC

  Windows operating system

  and ability to perform computer basic computer transaction (i.e.

  pull up reports

  check data

  enter data)

• Forklift license / Crane Certification preferred

  Prior overhead crane experience

  a plus.

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures. We will provide you with OSHA safety training

  but if you already have it that’s a plus!
