Job Description
Identify and analyze problematic areas in OHCA pricing, billing and coding practices, making recommendation(s) for solutions. This position maintains accurate accounts receivable balances for assigned drug manufacturers. The objective is more efficient, accurate and clinically appropriate claim processing procedures, which will reduce OHCA and provider staff time, reduce payment errors, provide more accurate data collection, and improve collection of drug rebates. This individual provides information, and serves as a resource for OHCA staff on coding and reimbursement issues, especially as they relate to pharmacy and physician-administered drugs.
The pharmacy department is responsible for administering the prescription drug benefit for Medicaid clients. The pharmacy department and its related tasks are divided into three functional units. The Pharmacy Operations Unit is focused on the daily tasks required to monitor pharmacy claims, monitor utilization trends and communicate with providers. The Drug Rebate Unit is focused on invoicing and tracking rebates from pharmaceutical manufacturers. The Clinical Unit focuses on disease management, patient-specific problems and other policy-related concerns. This position is in the Drug Rebate Unit.
