Job Description
Responsible for the coordination, recruitment, retention, activation, and deployment of the district 7 OKMRC unit. The Part-time coordinator will promote, plan, host, and lead various activities that support the OKMRC unit at the district, county, and community level. They will respond to public emergencies and non-emergency events, and are a resource for OKMRC volunteers. They must communicate effectively, and develop relationships across the various agencies and tribes in their district. Additionally, the position coordinates with other OKMRC Coordinators and Part-Time Coordinators throughout OSDH’s administrative regions, at the regional area director’s discretion.
Increase OKMRC volunteer membership and volunteer retention through regularly occurring communication, meetings, trainings, and membership activities.
Monthly reporting of planned and completed activities, as well as an overview of the state of membership to the OSDH District leadership team and OKMRC leadership.
Host quarterly volunteer meetings, and seek input from volunteers. Use volunteer and leadership feedback constructively to enhance membership.
Collaborate with the OKMRC program office to ensure program consistency, operational continuity and develop and maintain a network of support inside OSDH and OKMRC.
Oversee operational requirements for onboarding new volunteers, and maintaining onboarded volunteers, which include the application process, orientation process, volunteer requirements, background checks, and credentialing, and understanding of, and the ability to Activate and deploy.
Participate in both emergency and non-emergency activities, which may include public health exercises, public awareness campaigns, vaccination POD’s/clinics, public health educational events, OKMRC recruitment events, special projects, community sponsored events, volunteer trainings, volunteer exercises, and administrative support.
Have a working knowledge of the processes, and be able to effectively activate and deploy membership, as well as complete post activation and deployment reports.
Complete and submit any required RISE grant information and documents as needed.

Demonstrates knowledge of and supports OSDH’s mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
Demonstrates knowledge of and supports OKMRC’s Vision, mission, goals, and policy.
Works effectively in team environment, participating and assisting their peers.
High school diploma, G.E.D., or higher.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding emergency services, disaster response, recovery, and mitigation. Ability to: organize and coordinate various volunteer teams and activities across organizational lines; communicate effectively in presentation, orally and in writing; effectively describe and promote OKMRC’s Vision, mission and goals, host or conduct trainings and exercises; work under considerable pressure and stress in emergency situations; identify and recommend appropriate solutions to problems (decision making); and promote, establish, and maintain effective working relations with others.
Work is typically performed in a climate-controlled office setting, with exposure to moderate noise level. Some work will be performed in the community with exposure to varying conditions. While performing the duties of the job, employee is required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long period of sitting and daily use of computer and phone. May be required to work hours other than regular schedule such as nights and weekends.
