Job Description
Provides cost-effective nursing services and programs to treat and improve the health and wellness of the team members and to reduce the incidents withing the facility. Serves as case manager for team member occupational concerns at an industrial manufacturing facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES:
• Conducts on-site treatment of injuries and evaluates physical condition of patient
• Contacts physician and hospital to arrange for further medical treatment when needed
• Counsels team members of injury prevention and health care
• Maintains record of persons treated, and prepared accident reports and insurance forms as required
• Develops proactive health programs, such as health education (wellness), accident prevention, alcohol/drug abuse counseling, curtailment of smoking, flu shots, and weight control regimens
• May assist company physician in physical examination of team members
• Manages worker compensation claims
• Maintains health center and first aid supplies
• Collect data on work related injuries/illnesses and work with EH&S Manager to determine root cause
• Administers drug screens (new hire, random, incident, for cause)
• Manages medical surveillance programs (respirator, physical, audiometric, etc)
• Supports and participates in Morgan Olson’s PPS team efforts
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial occupational industry
Associates degree in Nursing is required (Bachelor’s degree preferred) from an accredited nursing program.
Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) certification desired (or board eligible)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/HAZARDS:
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
