We are recruiting for an experienced Premium Auditor to join our team. This is a remote position and ideally will be in the Chattanooga, TN or Atlanta, GA areas; though could be located in the Nashville, TN or the Huntsville AL areas, or anywhere between these locations.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Conducts audits to obtain accounting, financial and operational information for use in processing final audits and developing accurate audited premiums in accordance with company, industry and government rules and regulations. Evaluates and reconciles discrepancies revealed by audits and correspond with company departments, agents, and policyholders to obtain information or resolve service problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate with policyholders and/or their agents to obtain required exposure information contained within payroll, sales, subcontract cost and other relevant records.
Conduct premium audits either in person and/or virtually based on business needs.
Verify and assign rate classifications and their conformance to premium basis.
Perform operations reviews to identify changes in operations or unusual exposures that may impact the premium.
Develop a final audited exposure figure using established company procedures and within time guidelines.
Prepare detailed audit worksheets, reports and summaries.
Collaborate and coordinate activities to continuously build relationships with Amerisure’s agencies and their clients by providing expertise, support and consultative services that drive business results for the agency and Amerisure.
Attend court hearings, as needed, including testifying regarding audit findings.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; or equivalent work-related experience.
Minimum 2 plus years of field Premium Audit experience.
Ideally pursuing Associate in Premium Auditing (APA) designation and have passed APA 91 & 92.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 365 (focus on Excel and Word), Zoom, and Kanban.
Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department, across the organization and with external customers.
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence, and initiative without daily interaction with management.
Ability to proactively manage media-based interactions, to establish relationships, and build social rapport with colleagues from a remote environment.
Candidate must live within the designated assigned geographic region as outlined in the job posting.
Ability to travel daily within assigned region.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
4 to 6 days of overnight travel on average.
