Direct supervision of all production employees in the assigned area(s), including job assignments, adherence to master schedule, tracking of time off, meeting production rates and efficiencies, meeting quality standards and meeting customer delivery dates, hiring, discipline and training.
Assist in scheduling the area to meet current production needs by providing input to appropriate departmental personnel (scheduler and superintendent).
Assist with identification and execution of training needs for assigned employees
Responsible for housekeeping of assigned areas.
Perform root cause analysis on issues in assigned areas and implement and track changes.
Responsible for the safety of assigned workers and area including full investigation of accidents and near misses
Assist in identification and implementation of appropriate procedures and policies to ensure optimum levels of efficiency and productivity are met.
Manage consumable levels outside of the tool room’s control.
Assist with inventory control cycle counts.
Selection Qualifications:
Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent. Post secondary training or associates degree in engineering or management, preferred
3-5 years related manufacturing experience; 2 years supervisory experience
Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, weld symbols and blueprints
Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and root cause analysis
