Harris Computer Seeking QA Automation Tester for immediate hire. Accepting applications from all groups.
We are seeking a QA Automation Tester on a temporary basis, with the potential to convert to full-time, to join the School District Systems (SDS) development team to build out and maintain automated test plans on our enterprise solution for the Canadian K-12 school board market. The ideal candidate should possess excellent knowledge of Selenium and have experience creating QA test plans. Proficiency in programming languages and relational databases is essential. The candidate should possess strong communication skills, the ability to identify and prioritize risks, and demonstrate the ability to work under pressure.
Office: Burnaby BC or Remote (Canada)
Hours of Work: 8:00am to 4:30pm Pacific Time
Reports To: Manager, Research and Development
This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in Canada and requires working in the PST timezone.
This position is budgeted for a starting rate between $30.00-38.00/hour CAD based on experience and location.
What your impact will be:
Design, develop, and execute automated tests.
Perform functional, application, regression, and performance tests.
Collaborate with R&D to develop and maintain automated unit tests.
Investigate and report defects in clear, concise language.
Monitor and report on test suite coverage, identify risks, and prioritize test case creation & execution.
Create and maintain test plans and test cases based on development stories and functional requirements.
Create test data sets and manage test environments.
Collaborate with R&D and customer support teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Work within deadlines in relation to product release timelines, and consistently complete assigned QA tasks in required timeframes.

What we are looking for:
University degree/diploma in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of Selenium, Ranorex, or other test automation tools.
Experience creating QA test plans.
Proficiency in SQL, C# and JavaScript.
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and data modeling.
Knowledge of agile software testing methodologies.
Awareness of security best practices in the context of software development.
Ability to work well and deliver under pressure in a fast-paced small team environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What would make you stand out:
Familiarity with Jira, Xray, and Confluence.
Prior experience with ERP software – Financial and/or Human Resources/Payroll.
Proficiency in creating and managing test data sets.
