Understand, implement, and audit the site SQF program.
Ensures the integrity of the SQF system
Ensure that the facility is audit ready at all times.
Perform all duties and task related to the SQF program.
Review and verify documentation and compliance materials ensuring that the program requirements are met at all times.
Perform monthly and quarterly internal audits of the program, identifying improvement/risk areas.
Perform supplier and co-packer audits as required.
Review packaging artwork and nutrition labels.
Facilitate timely, corrective, and preventative actions to fix problems or gaps in the program. Including but not limited to daily non-conformities, internal audit findings and complaints.
Oversee site HACCP program.
Manage site’s customer complaint workflow, including investigations and CAPAs.
Assist Processing Manager in identifying areas of quality improvement, partnering with them to ensure that quality is continuously improving. Offer suggestions and provide a hands approach to solving quality challenges.
Work collaboratively with the designated Sparboe employee(s) responsible for creating and updating Sparboe processing SOPs. Ensure procedures are consistent with SQF and Sparboe’s standards on the processing of high quality shell eggs.
Maintain expert knowledge and skills in egg grading quality. Develop intimate knowledge of the QC program at the location.
Work with Processing QC’s on egg quality sampling procedures and protocols. Train and coach all Processing personal on overall quality and SQF requirements and expectations.
Fully understand the work, process and requirements of the on floor QC job. As needed, will be required to act as QC on the processing floor when there are coverage gaps.
As needed, help with regular processing duties when rotating breaks or plant is shorthanded.
Assist plant management with creating positive food safety and quality culture at the plant level.
Provide management with timely written and oral reports on findings and feedback.
Conduct meetings with processing management to discuss and resolve food safety and quality related issues.
Monitor and assure site complies with Sparboe bio-security requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school degree required.
Strong math, English and comprehension skills.
Strong computer skills – Word, Excel, etc.
Strong soft skills – communication, leadership, etc.
Ability to obtain SQF, HACCP, and Internal Auditor certifications.
Attend annual Shell Egg Academy classes.
