Retail Field Merchandiser

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Field Merchandiser is responsible for merchandise presentation within a home store location as well as other stores in a general market, as directed. This position will also assist with merchandise set up in a new or remodeled store. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Assemble all store fixtures and signage properly within OSJL retail locations in compliance with company standards 
• Receive and arrange merchandise shipments from the Distribution Center (DC) 
• Implement merchandise plans that provide ample space and adjacency for every merchandise category 
• Complete daily assigned merchandising tasks in a timely manner 
• Uphold safety and maintenance standards in compliance with Company policies and procedures 
• Implement all planograms, plan-o-guides, and visuals as assigned 
• Participate in the operation and merchandising of the entire store 
• Carry out duties in a manner to protect company assets from damage 
• Perform various merchandising duties including, but not limited to, operating a ticket gun, cutting cases, lifting merchandise and/or fixtures, hanging signage, and displaying merchandise 
• Operate a cash register as needed 
• Travel to stores generally within assigned region to perform necessary merchandising 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

• Prior merchandising planning and presentation experience in other retail environments required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred 
• Prior retail management experience in operations and merchandising preferred 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google platform (i.e. sites, slides, drive, docs, sheets) 
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, clean driving record and auto insurance

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

• Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. This position requires extended periods of moving, remaining stationary, ascending, descending, and/or positioning oneself to complete various tasks throughout the shift. 
• Responsible for physical activities including using hand tools, ascending or descending a ladder, moving, reaching, and lifting on a frequent basis: should be able to lift 35 lbs on a regular basis. 
• Occasional overnight and weekend shift work and travel (including occasional overnight stays) may be required to complete a job.
