Safety & Health Coordinator

Our Tempel facility is hiring an EHS Coordinator. The Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for assisting in coordinating safety training

the distribution of safety related training materials

and serves as a point of contact regarding safety issues at the facility and helps to ensure Corporate Safety Policies and Procedures are followed. This position interacts regularly with maintenance

operations

shipping & receiving

transformation and human resources. Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Effectively lead new hire safety orientation and training
• Ability to work in a team environment focusing on meeting Safety

  Quality

  Delivery and Cost standards; Lead various safety focus teams as needed and directed

• Collects safety related data and submit to corporate safety department
• Assists in coordinating safety activities
• Ability to act as point of contact for any safety related issues
• Assists in ensuring compliance with all regulatory related laws and standards
• Ensures safety related and housekeeping inspections are completed
• Interacts with and assists workers compensation coordinators when necessary
• Leads and ensures first response efforts for all accidents and injuries
• Creates and leads safety toolbox talks for departments on all shifts
• Leads investigations to incidents/accidents that occur at the facility
• Lead Emergency Response Protocols in line with the Tempel Steel Emergency Response Program
• Initiates and reviews Job Safety Assessments
• Leads Weekly Safety Audits and tracks corrective actions to completion
• Maintain Health

  Safety and Environmental Training Records

• Submits requisitions for PPE and First Aid supplies

Desired Experience

• 1-3 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations (General Industry) – ISO45001
• A self-motivated

  multi- tasker that utilizes a strong work ethic for a 24/7 facility (weekend work) is required and expected.

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to establish working relationships quickly
• Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner via formal written and oral means to all levels of management; Strong computer skills (Windows based)
• Certified in First Aid
