Senior Accountant I – AP Accounting

As a senior accountant – AP accounting, you will provide the business with accurate, adequately supported financial information in accordance with U.S. GAAP. You will act as the key subject matter expert for assigned areas of accounting. You’ll maintain strong rapport with all stakeholders in order to investigate variances, expedite resolution of issues, and identify and resolve process inefficiencies.

In this role, the successful candidate is needed to be in the greater Vancouver, BC area, where we practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

Make a difference on our payables team as a senior accountant I – AP accounting!

What you’ll do:

• Own the accounting for all aspects of payables and assigned SG&A Lines
• Analyze large volumes of data from multiple sources, design reconciliations and reporting for payables including receipt accrual, reserves and other initiatives.
• Present interpretation of accounting guidance to the business on different transaction arrangements
• Develop a thorough understanding of operational practices, systems setup and accounting flow related to all forms of payables arrangements
• Provide accounting support and coaching to payables admin team (e.g. proper coding of invoices, investigation and resolution of issues)
• Work closely with the Treasury team on cash management (e.g. preparing weekly cash forecast)
• Contribute to overall accounting team objectives by supporting ad-hoc projects as required

What we’re looking for:

• 3+years progressive experience in financial reporting and financial analysis in a mid to large size organization
• 3+ years understanding controls, performing analytical reviews and/or following up on unusual results
• 3+ years experience with GAAP research and application of accounting standards in complex situations, analysis and documentation of impact to financial results and producing recommendations
• PEP level or CPA Designation
• Strong systems aptitude, advanced Excel
• Proven experience working effectively with multiple business units

Base pay range

Annual salary: $73,000.00 – $78,000.00

This role is overtime eligible.
