Technical Product Owner – Hybrid

Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced product owner who has an entrepreneurial mindset for distilling business value and goals into roadmaps and refined product backlogs. The Agile Product Owner senior advisor represents the “voice of the customer” at the team level to help lead the mission. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and prioritizing the Product Backlog, ensuring that the team is working on stories that maximize business value and deliver necessary fixes and functionality to all customers. They must have strong business skills and experience with either past experience working with technology teams, or the ability and interest to learn how to work with technology teams. The incumbent provides expert content/professional leadership on complex assignments/projects. Exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives. Uses deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders. Focuses on providing thought leadership but works on broader projects, which require understanding of wider business.

Responsibilities:

• As a technical product owner, collaborate effectively with business partners with a primary focus on the customer experience, and reinforce empathy to the “why” behind Evernorth Accountable care business needs.
• Provide servant-leadership for teams and support continuous improvement activities to help a team consistently deliver working code
• Collaborating with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements
• Own, develop, and maintain a healthy backlog of features and stories
• Lead your team through the refinement of user stories, ensuring that the business value remains the focus.
• Managing the product backlog and prioritizing them based on changing requirements
• Enable the team to succeed through the management of actionable stories and help remove or illuminate any blockers to the Product Manager as they arise.
• Coordinate teamwork efforts to maximize velocity and value delivery
• Accept stories to ensure they meet the defined acceptance criteria – validate with the Product Manager that the stories accomplish the feature level definition of done
• Work with Application Development Managers for quality assurance and release scheduling
• Coordinate and complete release activities including release notes, communications, user documentation, and reporting
• Prepare and conduct sprint reviews and agile demo meetings for product stakeholders
• Maintain a bug triage and L3 support process

Qualifications:

• Knowledgeable and enthusiastic/current on consumer engagement and data-driven enablement technologies
• Proficiency in lean/agile environment, and understands modern architecture (cloud, microservices, event systems, CICD)
• Exceptional organizational, project and people management skills with ability to articulate what makes for “good” software
• High energy, highly productive with strong self-starter initiative
• Incredibly analytical, quickly make low-level decisions while being patient and methodical with high-level ones
• Experience in product intuition and UX design sensibilities

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

• CSPO or equivalent (Certified Scrum Product Owner) and/or SPO/PM (SAFE Product Owner/Product Manager) is strongly preferred.
• Experience in claim systems, processes and industry standards is preferred.
• Good understanding on Provider data management is a plus
• JIRA experience preferred.

This role is Onsite , which allows most work to be performed at Scottsdale/Arizona.
