Test Equipment Technician – Communications
OTTO’s opportunity:
Our Test Equipment Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining all production test equipment including the Audio Precision, Listen System and cable continuity testers. Duties include diagnosing product defects and troubleshooting equipment issues, updating test programs for new part numbers, determining and adjusting production test limits, designing and building test hardware.
Specifically, the Test Equipment Technician will:
Have good working knowledge of standard AC, DC, and audio test equipment
Assist with the design and construction of test fixtures for production
Evaluate and document final product performance to customer specifications
Ability to read schematics and build prototype circuit boards
Design and fabricate test equipment and fixtures
Continuing support of existing products and production test equipment
Interface with production, manufacturing, engineering, sales and external suppliers on test related issues
Provide engineering documentation: schematics, BOM’s, ECN’s, drawings, layouts
Assist with other related duties as required or assigned
What you’ll need to bring to the table:
Two-year degree, trade school, or equivalent
Working knowledge of software programming such as LabView, BASIC and/or Python a plus
Able to work with machine shop tools and soldering tools
Familiar with audio testing of speakers and microphones a plus
Requires the ability to understand electrical techniques and theories, automated test equipment and test fixtures
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills for production line defects
Requires self-motivation and ability to complete projects with strict guidelines
Good oral and written communication skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be detail oriented

The hiring range listed in this posting is what we, in good faith, anticipate relying on when confirming an hourly rate for this position; exceptions may be considered for highly experienced candidates with multiple years of at-level experience.
Target hourly hiring range: $24.00 to $31.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Profit Sharing Bonus – OTTO believes that it’s fair to share the profits that the employees help to make; profit sharing is distributed to employees twice a year. OTTO’s profit sharing plan is paid at the discretion of the company and is not a guaranteed bonus or any part of a compensation plan.
Vacation: five days after 30 days of employment and 80 hours at 1 year – vacation time is earned on the anniversary date.
