Job Title: Beneficiary Retiree Services (BRS) Associate
Responsible for delivering a wide range of support services to members, surviving families and beneficiaries of deceased members, and at-risk members.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Occasional late shift on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as needed.
Salary Range: $57,400 – $80,500 per year, which is base pay.
Compensation will be based on candidate qualifications.
Job Scope/Duties
This role involves opening and closing IRA, ESA, and regular accounts, renewing certificates of deposit, assisting members with account-related questions and issues, and performing various basic account maintenance tasks and transactions in compliance with established Credit Union and Account Services policies, procedures, and standards.
The Associate manages and monitors assigned BRS case files, oversees at-risk member accounts, identifies and assists potential victims of elder financial abuse, and completes reports related to such cases.
Providing support and guidance to both members and staff regarding Credit Union products and services and performs other functions as required.
The Associate also serves as a functional back-up for Account Services (AS).
Experience/Minimum Education Requirements
Requires a minimum of two (2) years of current and relevant experience in a financial institution.
Relevant experience working with new accounts, account maintenance, and related regulations and functions
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or the equivalent level of education and experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Familiarity with credit union products and services, including deposit accounts, Certificates, IRAs, and ESAs. Working knowledge of account opening, maintenance, and closure processes, as well as applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to assist members, beneficiaries, and surviving family members with empathy and professionalism.
Ability to manage multiple case files, maintain accurate records, and identify potential elder financial abuse concerns.
Must possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintain confidentiality, prioritize competing tasks, and perform accurately in a fast-paced environment.
